Acknowledgement is on the lookout for Senior Developers to join our growing technical team in the heart of London's digital hub.
We are a small company with a super-talented team. We have an exciting client base and work on a huge range of projects.
As a Senior Developer at Acknowledgement you will be leading the team on a wide variety of web and mobile projects, getting your hands dirty writing code and generally looking after Acknowledgement’s technical output.
Candidates must be passionate about internet and mobile technologies, and keen to up-skill and train others in the team.

We don't like to pigeonhole developers into a particular speciality - we'll be most interested in candidates with a wide range of skills.
This is also a great opportunity for a web developer who wants to get into mobile development - we'll provide any additional training you may required to help you take your skills to the next level!
Main responsibilities:
- Build and maintain websites.
- Build and maintain mobile websites and Apps.
- Meet with clients to understand their needs and discuss technical solutions.
- Actively participate in writing responses to new projects.
- Evaluate your code and that of the rest of the team to ensure that it is valid, properly structured, meets industry standards and is compatible with all common browsers, devices and operating systems.
- Maintain an understanding of current web technologies and programming practices through reading and participating in professional conferences, workshops or groups.
- Overseeing the output of more junior team members, providing support and assistance where needed.
Essential experience:
- Minimum five years commercial experience in a developer role, preferably with experience working in a busy agency environment.
- Expert knowledge hand-coding standards-compliant, semantic HTML and CSS, with a good knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3.
- Confident using Adobe Photoshop to translate beautiful visual design into beautiful web pages.
- Minimum three years experience working with object-oriented PHP and SQL using at least one PHP MVC framework (e.g. CodeIgniter, CakePHP).
- Strong Javascript skills, ideally using jQuery or similar libraries.
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs and SDKs (e.g. Twitter API, Facebook Graph API and Javascript SDK, Google Maps, etc).
- Experience with source control systems (preferably Git).
- Good UNIX and Linux sysadmin skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Client-facing experience.
Preferred skills:
- Experience in mobile or software development (e.g. Objective-C / iOS, Java / Android etc).
